WOOD FUEL SUPPLY

LOW CARBON ENERGY SERVICES
The wood fuel supply chain is our business and as the two most important factors in wood fuel are quality and security, we run our own commercial wood chip hubs in Surrey, Hertfordshire, Essex and further sites across the South and East of England.

We produce over 6000 tonnes of premium wood chip each year from local woodlands through planned and sustainable harvesting programmes. This allows us to manage and control both the quality of the wood chip and maintain a buffer stock for supply at all times.

Other wood fuel hubs will be set up as required to meet local demand across South and East of England.

We can offer flexible wood fuel supply agreements to the local biomass market as follows;

Delivered wood fuel supply contract
Ex-works wood fuel collection contract
Heating supply contract

Each of these options can be set up for one year, multiple years or bespoke contracts and as wood fuel is a low cost renewable fuel it is consistently cost-effective against the price of delivered domestic gas and oil.

Delivered and ex-works contracts are often measured by weight (in tonnes) or by the load (in cubic metres). Alternatively heating supply contracts, which are identical in the supply of the fuel, are measured by the kilowatt hour (kWh) rather than by weight or load. This method of measuring heat energy usage can be compared directly with domestic gas contracts and ensures that we provide the most energy efficient fuel. The preferred unit rate would be agreed as part of any long-term contract.

Our premium wood chip specifications:

G30 and G50 standard chip size in mixed woods
30-35% moisture content
Load sizes: 6m³ to 90m³

Deliveries are provided within a radius of 15 miles from the closest hub although for larger contracts we would be happy to provide a quote for a delivered fuel contract. Each delivered wood fuel contract will be assessed by fuel specification, access and store size to ensure that supply is maintained to the highest standard.

LC Energy can also provide high grade wood pellets manufactured from local sawmill residues and sold by the bag or loose blown depending upon the size and access of the customers fuel store.
