LC Energy were appointed to design and install a self-contained mini district heating system at a farm in Hampshire. The biomass system was built to replace three existing oil-fired boilers that were being used in the main farmhouse and 2 of the older homes on site. A fourth site is a relatively new build and is fully reliant on the biomass system for both it’s heating and hot water supply.
In addition, LC Energy was appointed to assess the technical and financial feasibility of establishing a centralised, wood fired heating system at a Manor House. We compiled an appropriate system requirement specification, invited and assessed tenders for supply of a compliant system, and advised The Manor’s owners on selection of boiler system supply and installation contractors. An oil-fired boiler and warm air unit were removed and replaced with heat-exchangers and associated controls. A new boiler house and internal fuel store have been established at some distance from The Manor building.
