A collaboration between Surrey Hills Enterprises and the Surrey Hills Society, along with sponsor Squire’s Garden Centres, has launched the Surrey Hills Champion Initiative supporting the protection of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty into the future.
Through LC Energy becoming a Surrey Hills Champion, we are part of a growing network of organisations and individuals that share the same sustainability values, supporting nature recovery projects within the Surrey Hills and increase sustainability.
As a Surrey Hills Champion LC Energy will have a hedgerow or tree planted on our behalf as a way of showing a tangible action made when joining. With the first nature recovery project set at Clandon Wood, newly planted native trees and hedgerows on the mostly meadow 31-acre site will help to blend the woodland and grasslands together. These projects are a key part to encouraging native insects and wildlife, to help reduce climate change and support young people who can benefit from nature.
