Achieving B Corp status is a major step in the right direction as it has tested and checked how we operate our business and will help us to identify where we can improve.
What is B Corp Month?
Although B Corp is an ongoing journey, B Lab and the global B Corp Community join together every March to celebrate B Corp Month and everything it means to be a B Corp, raising awareness of the movement across the world.
As this is our first time celebrating B Corp Month as a Certified B Corp, we’re excited to join the community and raise awareness that the B Corp certification stands for ongoing commitment to better business. We welcome businesses to join us in the celebration, gear up for change and choose to keep moving forward.
Our Way Forward
At LC Energy, we understand that achieving B Corp Certification is a commitment to a continuous journey of improvement across the 5 key impact pillars: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. However this isn’t just a milestone; it’s a marker from which we will strive to making a meaningful difference in the world.
Over the course of the next year, our efforts will be geared towards building upon our Governance reporting procedures and our Environmental policies across all areas of the company’s operations.

Our journey begins with the sustainable and legal sourcing of UK wood, a deliberate choice that not only supports local communities but also aligns with our sustainability objectives.
We adhere rigorously to internationally recognised standards, including ISO certifications 14001 and 9001, Grown in Britain and the Government’s own Biomass Suppliers List accreditation. This ensures that we’re meeting the highest possible standards of quality whilst making a purposeful effort to ensure environmental performance.
To keep moving forward, we’ve implemented continuous improvement for our reporting mechanisms through comprehensive audits and regular independent assessments; we continually evaluate our performance against industry standards and certification to ensure we always deliver best practices.
Environmental Impact:

One pivotal aspect of LC Energy’s sustainability model lies in our meticulous attention to the logistics of biomass production. Understanding the importance of minimizing carbon emissions associated with transportation, LC Energy has pioneered a satellite hub system – this innovative approach ensures that the distance between tree and heat falls within the optimal low carbon target of 30 miles.
As we continue to evaluate, we make sure we are adhering to rigorous governmental regulations and sustainable criteria, such as felling licenses and woodland management plans.
