A good pellet has a high calorific value, so burns for longer and thus provides more heat per bag. Low moisture content is also desirable because it makes for more efficient burning as less water needs to evaporate.  In addition a low ash and dust content is preferable. To reduce harmful emissions, pellets should have no additives.

A good indicator of pellet quality is whether or not they meet the ENPlus A1 specifications, which is a set of criteria that ensures quality wood pellets. All the pellets we sell meet or exceed these specifications, so you can be sure you are using the best wood fuel for your boiler.
