This month we are celebrating LC Energy’s 15th year in business, and after all these years of supporting the biomass industry and our customers, things are only getting better at LC Energy.
First and foremost, we would like to thank our customers, who have remained loyal and that we have helped save an estimated 370,000t CO2 compared to oil; we’re also grateful to our network of suppliers, who perform fantastic work and keep us at a competitive advantage; and finally, we thank our employees, who are passionate and dedicated, and who make LC Energy what it is today.
Back in 2007, our starting vision was simple – “to provide value to woodland owners through locally distributed supply chains… create jobs and demonstrate secure renewable energy supply to the emerging biomass market” Mark Lebus, Managing Director. Now as industry leaders with wood fuel depots across the South East, thousands of domestic and commercial customers, from major airports, universities to zoos, we continue to fulfil this promise.
Our 15th anniversary kicked off with an anniversary party in West Sussex for all employees, to recognise and enjoy how far we have come since 2007. It was humbling to look back on our beginnings and reflect on the values that have remained the cornerstone of our accomplishments. We had a fantastic day enjoying locally sourced food and drink, in company of those who have made our success possible. To mark the occasion LC Energy offset our employees personal carbon footprints estimated to be 10 tonnes of CO2eq. per individual for the past year.
We are proud to be prospering in such a time of innovation and leading the way in the provision of renewable energy sources to provide a sustainable, low carbon future. At LC Energy we will continue to prioritise our Sustainability, Environment and Social Governance (ESG) strategies, as we strive towards carbon neutrality by 2025 and net zero by 2030.
With the UK government targets set to reach Net Zero by 2050, it has never been more important for businesses to take action to mitigate climate change. We are delighted to announce that this summer we are launching our carbon management business, 5D Net Zero, to help businesses reduce their carbon impact and achieve net zero through our carbon footprinting, carbon reduction planning and carbon offsetting services.
We are proud of what LC Energy has accomplished but could not have done it without our customers, suppliers and employees support. We are hopeful for the future of LC Energy, and the renewable energy sector.
