At LC Energy we have been using HVO fuel at our sites across the South East, this means that our machinery and welfare units are currently powered by 100% renewable energy.
Crown HVO fuel is a FAME-free fossil-free environmentally friendly alternative to mineral diesel for use in modern vehicles, generators, construction machinery and industrial power systems. It is a tested and tried product; it’s clean, safe and endorsed by a wide range of OEMs.
HVO is 100% hydrocarbon, sustainable, renewable and fully biodegradable. It is synthetically made through a hydrotreatment process from vegetable oils or animal fats which allows it to significantly reduce harmful emissions when used in diesel vehicles and machinery.
HVO greenhouse gas emissions are 90% lower than mineral diesel, and significantly reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx), particulate matter (PM) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions, improving air quality.
The switch to HVO fuel is only one of the ways that LC Energy is reducing emissions and its environmental impact. Improvements within our supply chains and the sustainable management and utilisation of biomass is key in order to decarbonise heat and achieve the Government’s target of Net Zero emissions by 2050.
