This week LC Energy MD, Mark Lebus, visited Drax power station in Yorkshire with the Bioenergy Europe as part of a board meeting.
Drax power station is a large biomass and coal-fired power station in North Yorkshire, it has a 2.6 GW capacity for biomass. Drax’s generating capacity is 3,906 MW, the highest of any power station in the United Kingdom, providing approximately 6% of the UK’s electricity supply.
